1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation may be cited as the Westpac Banking Corporation Regulation 1996.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on 1 January 1996.
3 Application of certain provisions of Corporations Law relating to capital and shares
(1) The provisions of Divisions 4 and 4B of Part 2.4 of the Corporations Law, as in force on 1 January 1996, and any provisions of the Corporations Regulations made for the purposes of those provisions, as in force on that date, apply to the Bank.(2) A reference to section 191 of the Corporations Law in section 201 of that law (as applied by this clause) is taken to be a reference to clause 98 of the deed of settlement.cl 3: Am 13.12.1996; 2001 No 34, Sch 5.29.
4 Application of certain provisions of Corporations Law relating to legal capacity
The provisions of section 260 and Division 1 of Part 2.3 of the Corporations Law (other than section 166A), as in force on 13 December 1996, and any provisions of the Corporations Regulations made for the purposes of those provisions, as in force on that date, apply to the Bank.cl 4: Ins 13.12.1996.
