Standard Time Amendment (Daylight Saving) Act 2007 No 44



An Act to amend the Standard Time Act 1987 to extend the daylight saving period from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April; and for other purposes.
1   Name of Act
This Act is the Standard Time Amendment (Daylight Saving) Act 2007.
2   Commencement
This Act commences on the date of assent to this Act.
3   Amendment of Standard Time Act 1987 No 149
The Standard Time Act 1987 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.
4   Repeal of Act
(1)  This Act is repealed on the day following the day on which this Act commences.
(2)  The repeal of this Act does not, because of the operation of section 30 of the Interpretation Act 1987, affect any amendment made by this Act.
Schedule 1 Amendments
(Section 3)
[1]   Section 2A Summer time period—definition
Omit section 2A (1) (a). Insert instead:
  
(a)  a period starting at 2 am on the first Sunday in October in each year and ending at 2 am on the first Sunday in the following April, or
[2]   Section 2A (2)
Omit the subsection. Insert instead:
  
(2)  Despite subsection (1), the summer time period commencing in the year 2007 is taken to be the period starting at 2 am on Sunday 28 October 2007 and ending at 2 am on Sunday 6 April 2008.
