5.23 Specified development
The construction of a fence that is not located on the boundary of a road, other than a rear lane, is development specified for this code if it is not carried out on a lot that contains a dwelling house.
5.24 Development standards
(1) The standards specified for that development are that the development must:(a) be located on a side or rear boundary, and(b) not be more than 3m above ground level (existing), and(c) not be of solid construction.(2) Despite subclause (1), any fence located along the boundary of a site that adjoins land within a residential zone or a lane must be open for at least 75% of the area of the fence that is more than 1.8m above ground level (existing).Note.Development standards for fences that are exempt development are specified in Division 1 of Part 2.
