Application for building certificate
(cf clause 112A of EP&A Regulation 1994)
An application for a building certificate in relation to the whole or a part of a building may be made to the council by—the owner of the building or part or any other person having the owner’s consent to make the application, orthe purchaser under a contract for the sale of property, which comprises or includes the building or part, or the purchaser’s solicitor or agent, ora public authority that has notified the owner of its intention to apply for the certificate.An application must be accompanied by the fee payable under clause 260.Despite subclause (1)(a), the consent in writing of the owner of the building or part is not required if the applicant is a public authority and the public authority has, before making the application, served a copy of the application on the owner.
