Abolition of penal servitude
The punishment of penal servitude is abolished.Any sentence of penal servitude that was in force, immediately before the commencement of this section, is to be taken to be a sentence of imprisonment and is to continue in force as such for the remainder of the term for which the sentence of penal servitude would, but for this section, have continued in force.Subject to the regulations, in any Act or instrument, a reference to penal servitude is taken to be a reference to imprisonment.
