255   Questions of order

(1)  The chairperson, without the intervention of any other councillor, may call any councillor to order whenever, in the opinion of the chairperson, it is necessary to do so.

(2)  A councillor who claims that another councillor has committed an act of disorder, or is out of order, may call the attention of the chairperson to the matter.

(3)  The chairperson must rule on a question of order immediately after it is raised but, before doing so, may invite the opinion of the council.

(4)  The chairperson’s ruling must be obeyed unless a motion dissenting from the ruling is passed.
