5 Construction of references to Department of Consumer Affairs and head of that Department
(1) In any document, a reference to the Department of Consumer Affairs, or to the Director or Director-General of that Department, is to be construed as a reference to the Department of Fair Trading, or to the Director-General of that Department, respectively.(2) Without limiting the operation of subclause (1):(a) the reference in the definition of “Commissioner” in section 4 of the Fair Trading Act 1987 to the Director-General of the Department of Consumer Affairs is to be construed as a reference to the Director-General of the Department of Fair Trading, and(b) the reference in the definition of “Commissioner” in section 5 of the Strata Titles Act 1973 to the Director-General of the Department of Consumer Affairs is to be construed as a reference to the Director-General of the Department of Fair Trading, and(c) the reference in the definition of “Commissioner” in section 4 of the Strata Titles (Leasehold) Act 1986 to the Director-General of the Department of Consumer Affairs is to be construed as a reference to the Director-General of the Department of Fair Trading, and(d) the reference in the definition of “Registrar” in section 5 of the Co-operatives Act 1992 to the head of the Department of Local Government and Co-operatives (required by clause 12 (3) of the Administrative Changes (Departments) Order 1995 to be construed as a reference to the head of the Department of Consumer Affairs) is to be construed as a reference to the head of the Department of Fair Trading.
