Key1 indicates repeal of a whole Act that contains only amendments, or amendments and repeals, that have commenced and provisions that are redundant
2 indicates repeal of those provisions of an Act that contain only amendments, or amendments and repeals, that have commenced or are redundant
The repeals are explained in detail in the Explanatory note relating to this Act. In relation to the repeal of amending Acts, it should be noted that the Acts are repealed simply to rationalise the legislation in force and that the repeals have no substantive effect on the amendments made by the Acts or any associated provisions. The Acts that were amended by the Acts being repealed are up-to-date on the Legislation Database maintained by the Parliamentary Counsel’s Office and are available electronically.Section 30 (2) of the Interpretation Act 1987 ensures that, when an Act is amended or repealed, no amendment made by the Act is affected. Section 30 (2) of that Act also ensures that the following matters are not affected:
(a) the proof of any past act or thing,(b) any right, privilege, obligation or liability saved by the operation of the Act,(c) any amendment or validation made by the Act,(d) the operation of any savings or transitional provision contained in the Act.
