89 Removal or destruction of timber
(1) A responsible authority must not remove, fell or destroy timber
from an area of more than one hectare of land within a controlled travelling
stock reserve unless it has given the Forestry Corporation at least 3
months’ notice in writing of its intention to do so.
Note. For the effect of compliance with this section, see section 38 (4)
(e) of the Forestry Act
(2) A responsible authority must consult the Director-General of
National Parks and Wildlife before it decides whether or not to fell timber on
or remove timber felled on a controlled travelling stock reserve that adjoins
a national park or a nature reserve.
(3) The responsible authority may remove timber only after giving due
consideration to any representations made by the Director-General of National
Parks and Wildlife.
