35 Giving information to central authorities and competent authorities in Convention countries
(1) This section applies to:(a) a court, and(b) the Commonwealth central authority, and(c) central authorities of Australia appointed as mentioned in Article 29, paragraph 2, of the Child Protection Convention, and(d) other competent authorities of Australia.(2) If it would be consistent with this Act or the Child Protection Convention to do so, a New South Wales authority may give information to:(a) a court or an authority of Australia to which this section applies, or(b) a central authority or other competent authority of a Convention country.(3) This section applies so as to permit the giving of information despite any provision of the following Acts that would prevent the giving of that information:(a) the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998,(b) the Community Welfare Act 1987,(c) the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002,(d) the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.
