70 Members
(1) The members of a society are:(a) the persons who sign the application for membership on the
formation of the society, and
(b) any other persons who are admitted to membership under the
society’s rules.
(2) The members of a merged society are the persons who, on the day of
the merger, are members of a society that is a party to the merger, and any
other persons who are admitted to membership under the merged society’s
rules.
(3) The members of a society to which another society has transferred
the whole of its engagements include the persons who, immediately before the
transfer took effect, were members of the transferor
society.
(4) The members of a society to which another society has transferred
part of its engagements include the persons who, immediately before the
transfer took effect, were members of the transferor society and are
specified, for the purposes of this subsection, in an agreement between the
societies.
(5) A person may exercise the rights of membership of a society only
if the person has complied with any requirements for membership under the
society’s rules.
